We're Home & Thank You!

We're home from the hospital! I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the wonderful e-mails that I've received -- as you can imagine my hands are quite full & busy right now, and I just can't respond to all of them personally -- so wanted to post a big THANK YOU here for all of your kind words!

Here are some new photos of Landon - it's amazing how he's changed in just 5 days! We'll continue to update his Baby Website as frequently as we're able, so you can check in there for more photos :)

 

 

 

Brad is home until next Wednesday with his laptop, but once he goes back to work I'll be checking e-mails less frequently as I can't take more than one trip up the stairs a day and that's where my computer is. So if you send an e-mail, please be patient in waiting for a response :)

New Dad

I'm setting this card up for auto post... hopefully it gets posted while we're in the hospital so that he doesn't see it before hand! lol!

But I wanted to share a card that I made for Brad for after Landon's born. It's sort of a hodgepodge of stuff since there aren't any really good stamp sets for such a card :)

The colors that are used are as follows: Real Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Whisper White -- all of the ink, cardstock and accessories are in these colors. All of the words are stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The Designer Series Paper is "Flock Together".

Landon Bradley Has Arrived!

Landon Bradley Schilling was born on Tuesday April 22nd at 2:14 pm! 7 lbs 12 oz and 20.5 inches long.

We ended up having to have an emergency C-Section -- every time I pushed his heart rate went drastically low, and by the 5th push he wasn't recovering so we had no choice. Not how we planned it, but we're both doing GREAT now and are completely healthy - so that's all that matters!

More Baby Thank Yous!

Never have I had FREE time where I've had to LOOK for something to do! And I know that never again will I.... but yesterday was one of those days.... the house was spotless.... I have 15 meals cooked and frozen in the freezer.... there was nothing left to do. SO, I thought it would be a good idea to make up some Thank You cards to have on hand for people helping with baby stuff and for after-birth gifts -- things like that. I wanted them to be different from the ones I sent after the showers in case there were some of the same people, plus let's just face it after nearly 200 of those I couldn't look at that design anymore!

So here's another "quick and easy" thank you card idea -- when you're doing multiples there just isn't time for being fussy, so nothing to wowing, but a nice basic idea :)

 

The base of the card and feet are Bashful Blue -- the feet are from a retired stamp set "I'm Here" that I've been hanging onto :). The ribbon is the Kiwi Kiss 5/8" Striped and the cardstock is Textured Kiwi Kiss. The brown is Chocolate Chip, the greeting "Thank You" is from the stamp set "Thank You Kindly."

Now off to the doctor to help this baby out!

Baby Week Sale!

Hi Everyone!

Well... this week is Baby Week at the Schilling household! While my due date wasn't until April 29th -- it's been a roller coaster ride! I've been dilated 3 centimeters for the last 2 weeks, and they were able to feel his head a week ago. The doctor didn't expect me to make it past this last week... but sure enough, Baby Landon decided to keep us waiting! He has the rest of the day today to make his appearance on his own terms -- but tomorrow at 2:10 the doctor is going to be helping him along and his birthday should be within 24 hours from the appointment if all goes well.

Nothing could have prepared me for the intense anticipation we would be feeling right now! We've been on the edge of our seats thinking "is today the day!?" and will be glad to have a rest from that emotional roller coaster... although a new one will surely begin!

The Dresser Arrived!

So I can now share another shot of the nursery!!!!

The last thing to come in is the chair -- it's scheduled for Tuesday...

Hopefully Landon was just waiting for his dresser to arrive and isn't going to wait for the chair as well :)

The Nursery is Almost Finished!

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and they were able to feel his head!!!! So we're just bracing ourselves for any minute now...

Meanwhile, I'm very much learning a lesson in waiting... we're waiting for him (the most important part!) but we're also waiting for his dresser and chair to arrive so that the nursery can be complete... I've washed all of his clothes, but there stacked all over the floor until the dresser/changing table arrives... so I can't share a COMPLETE view of the nursery, but I did want to share the 1/2 of the room that is done!

Baby Update

I thought I would give everyone a Baby Update... :)

Last Tuesday we found out that I was 3 centimeters dilated so that was wonderful news!

Then on Thursday we were in the hospital from about 9:00 pm to 2:00 am with contractions that certainly seemed like "the real thing" -- they went from 6 minutes apart to 3 minutes apart and kept getting greater in intensity... however... after 5 hours I hadn't dilated any further so they sent me home. By the time I woke up the next morning they had stopped.

On Saturday night I woke up around 2:00 am and they started up again, not quite so strong and frequent, so I decided to take a bath and see what happens... then I got extremely sick and had a long night of dealing with other symptoms instead, the contractions coming to an end just as they had on Thursday evening.

Today is Monday and I've been having mild contractions since I woke up.... but I'm not sure what to think of them since the last two times were false alarms! He keeps psyching me out so much that I'm afraid I'll never "believe him" and will be walking into the hospital quite late in the game - lol!

If we don't have the little guy tonight, we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning so will hopefully get some good and motivating news. I would think that with the contractions he would have made SOME progress....

I'm going on lots of walks to encourage him to come out, but he has a mind of his own!

Baby Thank You's!

I'm still working on my many, many Thank You cards that need to get sent out... the 1st batch of 80 have all been mailed, the 2nd batch of around 70 are still being worked on.

With needing to make nearly 200 of these, I had to keep it VERY SIMPLE, so it's not a huge wow. BUT, an idea for a quick and simple card if ever you should need mass quantities!

The colors are Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.

Birthday Brights!

I know... I've been MIA for a while! And I'm afraid that it's only going to get worse.... but.... for the time being I DO have something to share!!!!!

I made this card over a month ago and meant to post it then, but things have been just a wee bit too busy and so now is when you're seeing it!

I needed some Birthday Cards for a couple of downline birthdays, and felt a need to watercolor (which N-E-V-E-R happens....) so that's where I started :)

I had never done the watercoloring with markers before, but now I'm hooked!!!! The image is on Watercolor Paper, and watercolored with Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painters:

Don't you just love that look!? I do :) -- the frosting is done with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
